Laminate installation requires attention to detail to achieve a beautiful, long-lasting result. Our dedicated team is committed to making your laminate installation as effortless as possible, from subfloor preparation to the final click. Here’s a brief overview of what you can expect.
Your Pre-Installation Checklist
Thank you for considering Carpet Specialists for your flooring needs. Please allow 2 weeks from purchase date for notice of installation. Should you need to change a date, please contact us 24 hours in advance. To make this experience as pleasant as possible, we ask that you assist us by doing the following as needed:
Additional trip charges will be applied if the following items are not addressed prior to installation:
- Remove small breakable items from all rooms where work is being completed. (We will move large furniture)
- Strip beds of all bedding – sheets, pillows, comforters, etc.
- Empty the closet floors and move all low-hanging clothes. The floor must be accessible at least 3 feet off the ground.
- Gas appliances must be disconnected prior to installation.
- Disconnect all electronic equipment. (We do not reconnect)
- Inform your salesperson of any pianos, mechanical beds, exercise equipment, grandfather clocks, pool tables, etc. that need to be moved.
- Removal of toilets and pedestal sinks is included with a charge. Homeowner is responsible for re-installation of water lines. A licensed plumber is recommended.
- Door clearance adjustment is subject to additional charges after new flooring is installed.
- Floor prep may be required after take-up for an additional charge.
- Some scuffing may occur on baseboards, door frames, and stair risers during installation. This is a normal and expected occurrence.
- Temperature in home must be regulated between 60 and 80 degrees for 3 days prior to installation and after.
- Hard surface materials may need to be delivered prior to installation based on the manufacturer’s recommendations.
- Carpet Specialists recommends the use of felt pads under the legs of furniture.
